It saddens me that my senior year has abruptly come to an end due to this horrifying pandemic. Everything that I have worked so very hard for I feel as though was for nothing. It is truly disheartening that I will not be able to attend my commencement ceremony. Graduation is something not only the graduate gets to look forward to but family and friends get to be apart of and enjoy as well. This has made me uncertain about my future and I get really scared to think about what the future may hold. According to several news outlets these next two weeks are going to be the hardest and saddest week for most Americans. Experts are now predicting a surge in deaths from COVID-19. I find it sickening that the death toll has surpassed that of Pearl Harbor and 9/11. “This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment and our 9/11 moment only it’s not going to be localized, it’s going to be happening all over the country” said Adams. It amazes me how the US has had the most deaths so far with at least 312,000 confirmed cases and over 8,000 deaths. I hope to see this virus come to an end sooner rather than later so we can all go back to living our normal lives.
