Zoom Backlash

There have been several news stories saying that Zoom accounts are getting hacked. With all of the backlash Zoom is getting, CEO Yuan took it into his own hands and created a 90-day plan to focus on privacy rather than its flashy new features. Yuan was transparent about the companies issues and is taking commendable efforts to address them. Zoom has always been used as an enterprise platform, meaning a service for businesses to use not for personal users trying to video chat friends or family members. Therefore, this service was not designed with personal privacy top of mind. Yuan does understand however, that Zoom must reevaluate its priorities to meet the publics standards during this health crisis. It truly was amazing how transparent Yuan really was; he was extremely candid about the issues at hand and wanted to do everything he could to fix the problem. Although he was a bit defensive, he tried to cover up the story by saying Zoom is a platform strictly for businesses. Hopefully we will start to see a change with Zoom and that the efforts they are taking to make it a safer platform will in turn leave positive results.
